How often do rivets need to be replaced?
This varies greatly and depends on various factors such as the age of the skate, maintenance, and material.
Basically, it makes sense to check the rivets regularly and replace them once a year, depending on their condition.
How do my rivets last longer?
The main reason for rusting rivets is moisture. Since your skates get wet inside and out during use, you can easily improve the durability of the rivets:
- Dry the skates with a cloth after each use
- Remove the insoles so that the sole can also dry
- Let your skates dry in a warm place with low humidity
