ROH (Radius of Hollow) profiles let you create the traditional cavities most commonly used in field hockey, including the most popular ½" and 5/8″ hollow grinds. Choose from 12 different radii - from the deepest hollow for extreme grip (5/16") to the shallowest hollow for unsurpassed glide (1-¼").

Looking for the grip you need with the added benefit of glide? The Flat bottom profiles offer exactly what you're looking for - the best of both worlds. Available in four different thicknesses (3/8″, ½", 5/8″, ¾"), the Flat Bottom profile is a newly designed and optimized flat bottom cavity that provides improved glide while still maintaining the bite you want.

The hollow radius indicates how deep the groove is that is cut into the blade during grinding. The deeper, the more grip the blade has on the ice.
The shallower the cut, the more glide the blade has on the ice. A smaller radius (5/16", 3/8", 7/16") cuts deeper into the blade and creates more bite, while a larger ring (1-1/8", 1", 7/8") does not cut as deep and creates more glide.

Choosing the right radius is a matter of personal preference, whether you want more bite or more glide. The most common hollow radius is ½". We recommend ½" for most youth players (less body weight) and then increase the radius (5/8" or higher) as the player gets taller.

Proper profiling, tilt and center of gravity on your skates are critical to taking your skating to a higher level that will give you an advantage over your opponents.
We recommend new blades and re-profiling once per season.
